Hole No. 16: THE ELBOW

originally sponsored by G. and A. Harris. A sheet metal firm that made metal elbows, John Banks, another stalwart of the club, later became closely associated with that firm.
The bend on the pump-house corner is nearly 90 degrees and a big bunker in front of the green
and the one to the right (now replaced with a mound) were designed to keep a golfer honest. The
green has been re-designed but the awkward slope remains. Like most other holes on the course at this stage, very open and small trees.
The old Clubhouse (caretakers house) in seen the distance and what’s this a bunker on the right hand side and a staked tree.
